Guide to Using the DACIA MAP UPDATE Application

You can update the map in your navigation system using the DACIA MAP UPDATE application. This is a free smartphone app that allows you to purchase, download, install, and manage map updates for your Media Nav navigation device.
You will need the following:

Synchronize a USB flash drive with the data from your vehicle's main unit. Insert the USB flash drive into the main unit and select Navigation > Options > Map Update > Options > Update. This will synchronize the navigation data of the system with the USB flash drive. Then remove the USB flash drive.

  2. Connect the USB flash drive (empty FAT32 or NTFS) to your PC. Install or launch the Dacia Media Nav Evolution Toolbox.
  3. If your device is eligible for an operating system version update, it will be offered automatically. Please note: If no operating system update is offered, you already have the latest version available for your model. In this case, you can skip to step 4.
  4. Insert the USB flash drive back into your vehicle's main unit. The update process will start automatically.
  5. Your vehicle's main unit is now compatible with the DACIA MAP UPDATE application.
  1. Download the DACIA MAP UPDATE application from the Google Play Store.
  2. Install and launch the application.
    NOTE: The download process may take longer depending on your internet connection speed.
  3. Create an account or log in with your previously created Naviextras account to access free content or purchase new maps.

Create your personal account by providing the following information:

  1. A username and a valid email address
  2. A password
  3. Your address (country of residence)
    Note: Do not forget to check the box for notifications if you want to receive notifications about the latest available maps! Before logging in, please confirm your email address. The application will send a confirmation email to the email address you provided. Click on the 'Confirm registration' link. (Check your spam folder if you did not receive the confirmation email).

OR

Log in with your previously created Naviextras account (for the Toolbox login). Note: You may need to confirm your email address. The application will send a confirmation email to the email address you provided. Click on the 'Confirm registration' link.

You can edit or change your personal data at any time in the Profile menu, see Section 11.

  1. Connect your phone to the main unit of the vehicle using a USB cable.
  2. Tap the NAVIGATION icon on your navigation system > Options > Map Update > Options > Update with Phone.
    Your vehicle will connect to your phone, and the data from your vehicle's navigation system will be synchronized. Note: When the vehicle is paired with your phone, the icon in the upper right corner of the application will turn green.
  3. You can now disconnect the USB cable and browse maps and other content available for your system.

Multiple vehicles can be connected to the application. All vehicles that have been connected to the application at least once will be listed under Known Vehicles, see Section 11. You can select which vehicle you want to update.

  • Owned: all maps that you have purchased or are entitled to download (Latest Map Guarantee, free map updates, device configuration updates).
  • On the phone: all maps are downloaded to your phone and can be transferred to the main unit of your vehicle. You can delete maps from your phone by tapping the trash icon on the map card.
  • In the vehicle: All maps installed on the main unit of your vehicle are referred to as maps in the vehicle. You can delete maps from the main unit of your vehicle by tapping the trash icon on the map card.

To make the most of your navigation system, your vehicle manufacturer offers you a free map update within the first 90 days or free map updates for 3 years, depending on the model. Don't miss the opportunity to update your navigation system. Look for it under the Maps menu > Owned.


  • Tap the Owned menu. Here you will see the maps you can download for free.
  • Download the maps to your phone (Transfer to Phone button).
  1. After downloading a map to your phone, it will appear under Maps > On the phone.
  2. Tap the "On the phone" menu and connect your phone to the main unit of your vehicle using a USB cable. Note: When the vehicle is paired with your phone, the small icon in the upper right corner of the application will turn green.
  3. Select the maps you want to transfer to the main unit of your vehicle by checking the box next to the map(s). Note: If you select 'Select all,' all maps and other content will be transferred to the main unit of your vehicle.
  4. Tap Add to Transfer.
  5. Tap Transfer to Vehicle.
    Wait until the transfer is complete. Do not disconnect your phone from the main unit of your vehicle during the transfer!
  6. Once the map transfer to the vehicle's main unit is complete, all transferred maps will appear in the 'In the vehicle' menu.
    If you have not transferred all maps or want to change the already transferred maps, you can do so at any time by selecting the 'On the phone' menu, selecting or deselecting maps, and transferring them as described in this section.

If you want to delete maps from the main unit of your vehicle:

  • Connect your phone to the main unit of your vehicle using a USB cable. Note: When the vehicle is paired with your phone, the small icon in the upper right corner of the application will turn green.
  • Tap the Maps menu > In the vehicle and select the maps you want to delete by checking the box next to them. Tap the trash icon to delete maps. Warning: If you select 'Select all,' all maps will be deleted from the main unit of your vehicle.
  • Follow the steps described in Section 7 to restore deleted maps on the main unit of your vehicle.

To purchase content, you first need to synchronize the navigation data of your main unit with the application by connecting your phone to the main unit using a USB cable. Note: When the vehicle is paired with your phone, the small icon in the upper right corner of the application will turn green.

  • Log in to the application and select the Shop icon.
  • Tap the map you want to buy.
  • Tap Add to Cart.
  • Choose the type of map update or other content (one-time update or subscription for 1 or several years).
    The selected content package will be placed in your cart.
  • Go to Cart and tap Proceed to Checkout to initiate the purchase.
  • Read and accept the purchase conditions.
  • Click on Pay EUR XY and your purchase will be processed.
    You will be redirected to a third-party payment screen. Choose the desired payment method and select Make Payment.
  • Once your payment is processed, the purchased map or other content will appear in the Owned menu.
    You can download the map or other content by selecting the Transfer to Phone button.
  • Choose which map to download. Check the box to either select all or only a specific part of the purchased map update package.

All purchased maps and other content downloaded to your phone will be displayed in the Maps > On the phone menu. To transfer downloaded maps to the main unit of your vehicle, see Section 7.

You can redeem a code for a discount in the Profile menu.

  • Log in to the application and tap the Profile icon at the bottom of the app.
  • Select the 'Redeem Code' option.
  • Enter the provided code and tap the Use Code button.
  • In case of a valid Prepaid code the update content is offered, and with redeeming your code, you will have the possibility to download and install it using the 'Available updates' Menu item.
  • In case of a valid Voucher code the assigned discount is offered, and you can browse the available contents for your device using the 'Buy Content' Menu item.

You can change your personal settings in the Profile menu:

  • Change language: Profile > Settings > Select language
  • Download over Wi-Fi only: Profile > Settings > Download over Wi-Fi only
  • Change personal information: Profile > Personal Information
  • Change billing information: Profile > Billing Information
  • Change application password: Profile > Change Password
  • Change/add vehicles: Profile > Vehicles
